Topography refers to the shape of the landscape for example flat or steep. Topography also affects other factors that give places their character.

A
  • Refers to aspects built by humans
  • Infrastructure is specifically transport, communications and services
  • A city centre will have a high density of buildings whereas a village will have much fewer smaller buildings

  • Demographic characteristics are about who lives in a place and what they’re like, including gender, education level, religion, birth rates, ethnicity and population size.
