What is computer ethics?
a set of moral principles which regulate the use of computers
What is the purpose of computer ethics?
it includes methods and procedures to avoid infringing copyrights, trademarks and the unauthorized distribution of digital content. It also entails the behavior and approach of a human operator, workplace ethics and compliance with the ethical standards that surround computer use
What does IP stand for?
intellectual property
What is intellectual property?
any creation of the mind
IP is divided into 2 categories name them and what they protect
Industrial property- protects industrial designs, trademarks, and inventions (patents)
copyright- protects literary works, musical works, films, and artistic works
Define plagiarism
the use of someone’s intellectual property without giving appropriate credit by passing the work as your own
Define trademarks
a recognizable sign or expression which distinguishes the goods or services of a particular trader from the similar products or services of other traders
Define copyright
a legal protection that allows people who create original works to completely control how others use their work

a list of all the sources you have used during a research, whether referenced or not,.

Define credibility
the quality or power of inspiring belief
What are credible sources
reliable sources that provide information that one can believe to be true
What makes a source credible?
the sources accuracy, authority, objectivity and coverage
What criteria should be followed to determine if a source is credible, elaborate.
Timeliness- your resources need to be recent enough for your topic.
Authority- does the information come from an author/ organisation that has authority to speak on your topic?
Audience- who are the intended readers and what is the publication’s purpose
Relevance- does this article relate to your topic?
