What is the efferent mode?
A
- reading or listening to gather main points or information that support the meaning of the text.
- it encourages the reader to take away particular bits of important information.
- reader’s attention is focused on certain aspects of the text that will remain as a residue after the reading.

A
- reading and focusing on the expressions and language used in the text.
- used to form an opinion.

- reading or listening to engage in debate. discussion and analysis of the author’s intentions.

What is the literal comprehension level?
A
- is often referred to as ‘on the page’ or ‘right there’
- is literal information found in the text which is easy to identify
- is the simplest form of comprehension

What is the interpretive comprehension level?
A
- once we know certain factors found in the text, we now must read in between the lines
- requires you to think about the text and draw a conclusion
- the reader is expected to determine deeper meaning

A
- when we analyze, we examine or investigate something usually by breaking it down into smaller parts really to understand how it works

What is the application and synthesis comprehension level?
A
- both have separate features but they also overlap
- once you analyze something and understand what it is made up of then you can apply that understanding to change it into a different format

A
- draws an overall conclusion from what the reader has learned from the text
