Aerobic Endurance/ V02 max Definition
Definition: The ability to provide and sustain vigorous total body activity aerobically
Aerobic endurance/VO2 max Test + Method of training
Test: Vo2 max test, Multistage fitness test
Method of training: Continuous
Anaerobic capacity Definition
The amount of energy obtained from anaerobic sources (creatine phosphate breakdown and anaerobic glycolysis) in a single bout of exercise.
Anaerobic capacity test + Method of training
Test:
Muscular Strength Definition
The maximum force exerted by a specific muscle or muscle group during a single maximal muscle contraction – or 1RM
Mucular Endurance Definition
The ability of a muscle or muscle group to sustain repeated contractions over time sufficient to cause muscular fatigue
Power Definition
The ability to use strength quickly (Strength x Speed)
Speed Definition
The maximum rate at which a person is able to move his/her body
Agility Definition
The physical ability that enables a person to quickly change body position in a precise manner
Balance Definition
The ability to retain the centre of mass of a sportspersons body above the base of support
Co-Ordination Definition
The ability to perform smooth and accurate motor tasks, often involving the use of senses
Reaction time Definition
The time taken to initiate a response to a given stimulus
Flexibility Definition
The ability to move a joint through its complete range of motion
Body Composition Definition
The relative percentage of muscle, fat and bone
Exercise Economy Definition
Energy required to maintain a constant velocity of movement.
