Q

What is one of the dangers in growing up in an “Entitlement culture”

A

People grow up assuming they deserve things without having to work or compete for them. Then, when they enter the competitive arena (sports, school, jobs), and things don’t go their way, they blame someone else for their shortcomings. Such players give themselves and/or a team no chance to succeed.

Q

What does the following mean:

“If you want your win to have meaning, practice or play against someone who can beat you.”

A

You learn and grow much more from loses than wins. The loses build your resilience, your adaptability. Being competitive is a requirement to survive and be successful. In order to succeed, we must embrace our competitive nature, challenge ourselves, and overcome the obstacles that keep us from our dreams.
