way of life for a group of people includes beliefs, customs, languages, traditions, inentions, art, music, and literature
What is the difference between physical geography and cultural geography?
Physical Geography is concerned with locations of climate, water, and land, how they relate and affect each other and humans, and hat forces shape and change them
Cultural Geograpgy studies location, characteristics, and influence of the physical envrionment on cultures around the earth
How are physical and political lcoations determined?
Surveying and using lines of latitude and longigtude (global grid)
How are belief systems (religions) spread to new societies?
military and political conquest (Ex. Islamic empire converted and forced conquered peoples to Islam, Emperor Constantine conqered eastern Europe and forced people to become Christian)

What are examples of natural resource industries?
Mining, oil extraction, fishing, forestry
What is the difference between renewable and nonrenewable resources?
Renewable resources are living resources that can renw themselves if they are not overharvested (fish, coffee, forests, etc)
non living renewable resources are water, wind, soil, solar radiation from the sun
Nonrenewable are resources that cannot resuse themselves. Once used up, cannot be replenished (oil, coal)
Why are rainforests valuable natural resources?
provide a lot of oxygen for humans, provide raw materials that make medicines
