Communications for Joint Air Operations Flashcards
SONB: Explain how United States Message Text Format (USMTF) messages support joint operations Command and Control (C2) systems
USMTF messages support joint operations by providing a single set of standardized human-readable and computer-processable electronic and voice messages for information exchange and support requests to achieve interoperability among US forces and our allies.
SOB: Describe the purpose of the Joint Communications Electronics Operation Instruction (JCEOI).
The purpose of the JCEOI is a single, comprehensive document that contains a directory of frequencies, radio nets, call signs, and call words for all joint participants of an operation
SOB: Describe the purpose of the Joint Restricted Frequency List (JREL).
The JREL is a time and geographical listing of prioritized coalition force, HN, and enemy frequencies and radio nets essential to an operation and restricted from friendly Electromagnetic (EM) warfare (EMW) targeting such as jamming, intrusion, or meaconing (the transmission or retransmission of actual or simulated signals to confuse radio navigation).
SOB: Identify the C2 system of record used to plan, disseminate, and execute an Air Battle Plan (ABP).

SOB: Identify the primary data link used to support joint air operations.
