- Closed plus reset: Oxygen mask mic disabled, Boom mic enabled.
What is recorded by the cockpit voice recorder?
- Transmitted or received datalink communications and flight deck audio as selected on the audio control panels.
- Flight deck area conversations.
How is HF 1 sensitivity set?
- Sensitivity can be adjusted using any radio tuning panel with the receiver selected.
- Sensitivity control is rendered inop by radio tuning panel failure.
How do you identify that the HF transceiver fails to tune?
Tone lasting longer than 7 seconds.
Which VHF or HF system can be used for ACARS communication?
All: VHF: (L, C, R) HF: (L, R)
When does the VHF stuck mic protection operate?
On the Ground: and VHF transmission lasting longer than 35 seconds is disabled following annunciation of an audio tone.
In flight: 30 seconds, but you must manage it, does not disengage automatically.
SELCAL monitors which radio system?
VHF and HF radios.
-Must have frequency tuned to that station.
Does an incoming SELCAL trigger any dotted EICAS message and aural alert?
Call light illuminates and chime sounds.
How is a SATCOM call initiated and answered?
Using CDU and answered automatically. Speak using mic.
When will SATCOM call light extinguish?
Ground party hangs up or pilot ends call on CDU
How is communication established with the ground engineer?
Select GND on aft aisle stand call panel and speak through flight inter phone.
What are the indications of a call from the ground crew?
- Aural alert chime.
- Illumination of FLT call indication on audio control panel.
How can the service interphone be used from the flight deck?
System can be connected to the flight interphone system through the service interphone switch on the overhead panel.
Which areas are covered by PA?
Upper deck seating area plus crew rest area.
