Golden rule
Egalitarian: comprehensible to all listeners or readers
Respectful: Don’t be disrespectful, lose temper, be unprofessional
Trustworthy: Build a healthy relationship, if don’t know the answer, research and get back
What are the forms of communication?
Verbal communication: written and oral
Non-verbal communication: behaviors without using words
What are the component of an email?
Subject
Courteous greeting
State purpose
Use organized texts
What are the forms of non-verbal communication?
- Kinesics: movements of face, arms, hands, body movements eg: gestures, head movements, eye contact, expressions
- Proxemics: use of space and distance to influence communication eg: handshake, personal space
- Vocalics: Study of paralanguage (pitch, volume, rate, vocal quality, fillers
- Personal presentation and environment
What is noise?
Anything that interferes with clear communication.
