what are proitists?
A
are a group of eukaryotic microorganisms that have features that belong to animals, plants and fungi.

what is malaria?
A
a disease spread by mosquitos which carry the Plasmodium protist.

how is it transmitted?
A
by mosquitos (the vectors) that suck blood containing the protists from an infected person. They then pass the protist, to other people they suck blood from.

what are the symptoms of malaria? (5)
A
The symptoms of malaria include a fever, sweats and chills, headaches, vomiting and diarrhoea.

how is malaria prevented?
A
sleeping under mosquito nets, wearing insect repellent, taking antimalarial drugs.
