After asking the last Commitment Question …
Go Silent and Pray
If he answers Yes to the Last CQ – say …
Let’s Pray
If his answer to Any CQ is No – Just ask …
Why?
Objection 1 “I’m having too much fun.”
I want to make sure I’ve presented the gospel clearly.
Let’s say you go to the next party and something happens and you are dead.
According to God’s Word – Where does it say you’ll go?
Notice, I didn’t ask if he believed it.
I just asked: Where does it say you’ll go?
Then Pause for him to answer – It says you would go to hell doesn’t it?
Well, have a nice day. Drive safely.
Objection 2 “I’m too big a sinner.”
Me – Why?
Because I don’t have any idea why he thinks he’s too big a sinner.
Me – Have you done some terrible things?
Me – Remember the verse in Romans 10 that says, “For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
Me – Do you think that includes murderers?
Friend – Probably say, “Yes”
Me – Does it include an alcoholic?
Friend – Probably say, “Yes”
Me – Does it include you?
Go back and remind him of what he read in God’s Word.
If his answer to Any of the CQs is No – Just ask “Why?” Don’t …
Don’t assume you know the reason he is not ready to ask Christ to save him.
Don’t fall into the temptation to argue.
Don’t be motivated by a desire to be right or to prove him wrong.
