ABCs of Salvation Flashcards
1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always [be] ready to [give] a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
What would make a non-Christian ask a Christian questions?
As we grow in Christ, we will become increasingly so different from those around us – because we have hope.
How are Christians to answer?
What Peter is saying is that powerful Christian witness involves both an ability to explain what the gospel is and a lifestyle that testifies to the gospel’s power.
If the gospel hasn’t made a life transforming impact on us, the words that we speak to communicate that gospel to others …
… will fall to the ground.
The ABCs of Salvation are …
A) Admit you are a sinner;
B) Believe that Jesus is the Savior you need;
C) Come to Him.
If we want to articulate the gospel as precisely as possible in a post-modern and post-Christian world, what are the points we need to make clear?
1 Tell him about God. 2 Tell him about us. 3 Tell him about Christ and what He did. 4 Tell him about counting cost. 5 Tell him about counting cost.
Why is it so important to urge him to trust Christ?
Because It’s a matter of the will.
John 5:40
… you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.
