Define : Control
Control can have one of three specific and separate meanings.
Of the ship.
Of fighting equipment and sensors.
Of tactical employment.
Define : Command
Authority vested in the CO for the direction, co-ordination and control of the ship and her company.
Define : Control of the Ship
Responsibility vested in the CO to give direction and orders to the OOW concerning the handling of the ship, including ship manoeuvring and navigation.
Define : Control of fighting equipment and Sensors
Responsibility vested in the CO over the employment of such equipment.
Define : Control of Tactical Employment
Responsibility vested in the CO over the action of this own ship and/or other ship and aircraft under his Tactical Command or Control.
Define : Charge
Responsibility vested in the CO for the proper and safe movements and operation of the ship and her company.
