How do you use a colorimeter?

1. Set colorimeter onto red filter - complimentary to blue - red will be most absorbed by blue solution
2. Set colorimeter to measure absorption
3. Place cuvette containing just water into colorimeter - set to 0
4. Use colorimeter to read absorptions of all solutions
5. Plot absorbances of dilution serious on a graph

-use calibration curve to determine conc of glucose in unknown solution
-if absorbance is too great to read off curve = dilute solution + read absorbance again
-take dilution factor into account when determining conc of glucose
