A

-colonialism: the relationship between the colonizers & those who have been colonized
-colonization: the action of the “mother country” establishing new colonies & exerting control over the inhabitants

-is evident in all aspects of the dominant society
-justice
-incarceration rates, racial profiling, child apprehensions
-education
-funding for on reserve schools, lower graduation rates, fewer represented in STEM, higher attrition on post-secondary

-health disparities - chronic illness, HIV/AIDS, mental health issues, addiction, abuse
-Trauma - residential schools, MMIWG
