Q

What is the effect of increasing temperature on collision theory?

A

An increase of temp causes the particles to speed up causing more frequent collisions, and insures more particles have sufficient activation to react however it does not effect orientation

Q

What is the effect of increasing concentration on collision theory?

A

There are more frequent collisions as the particles are closer together therefore result in more collisions if they have the correct orientation.

6
Q

What is the effect of catalysts on collision theory?

A

Catalysts lower the activation energy, this means that the number of particles able to react have increased. Catalysts also hold particles in place with the correct orientation so more particles react.

Q

What is the effect of increasing pressure on collision theory?

A

More pressure means the particles are closer together as they are under pressure therefore, are more likely to collide and react if they have correct orientation and sufficient activation energy.

9
Q

What is the effect of surface area on collision theory?

A

Increase of surface area means that more surfaces are available for particles to react with, resulting in more collisions if particles have correct orientation and activation energy.
