forms cartilage; loose; found in cartilage and vitreous body; resistance to pressure
collagen type III
form reticular fibers; thin; found in skin, muscle, blood vessels; frequently found with type I; structural maintenance in expansible organs
collagen type VII
anchors basal lamina to underlying CT; not visible, detected by immunocytochemistry; found in epithelia; anchors skin epidermal basal lamina to underlying stroma
collagen type IV
found in lamina densa of the basal lamina; not visible, detected by immunocytochemistry; found in all basement membranes; supposrt of delicate structures, filtration
