A set of political beliefs
Provisional government
A temporary government normally in place until Democratic elections can occur
Containment policy
Truman developed this strategy in 1945 which was intended to prevent the spread of communism after the end of World War II. Its main components were the Truman doctrine and Marshall aid .
Subjugation
The action of bringing someone or something under domination or control
Dollar imperialism
A Cold War term used by foreign minister, Molotov of the Soviet union. He suggested that the Marshall plans was being used by the US to bribe countries to become reliant on the US and join them against the USSR.
Cominform
Stalin established cominform (the communist information Bareau) in 1947 to coordinate the policies of Soviet satellite states.
Comecon
Stalin established comecon in 1949 to coordinate the economies of Soviet satellite states in response to the Marshall Aids
Bizonia
The combination of the American and the British occupation zones on 1st January 1947, during the occupation of Germany after World War II, France later joined, forming a trizonia
Deutsch Mark
A basic unit of money that was formally used in Germany, but was introduced in the western zones of Germany in June 1948.

Truman doctrine
The American foreign policy, that pledges that America was support for democracy among the authoritarian threats. The goal of the doctrine is to prevent the expansion of the USS are during the Cold War. It began on March 12, 1947.
Iron curtain speech
March 5, 1946 I am curtain was a metaphor of the imaginary line that divide Europe between the democratic world in the west and the communist world in the east.
Countries which became communist in Europe
Finland, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Albania
Marshall aid
1948-51 13.3 billion was given to 16 European countries in hope that it would prevent more countries becoming communist. It was part of the containment policy.
