There were elections in 1945. Some Communists got voted in but not enough. In 1947, voters were intimidated in a campaign supported by Mosvow and the Communists won. By 1949 Hungary was a one party Communist state.

A

The USA would provide $400million in economic aid to Greece and Turkey and would send Amercian civilian and military personnel. In the speech, Truman talked of Choosing Democracy over Communism was like choosing good over evil and said Communism should be stopped
