- Parents do not show any affection to their children
Parents avoid genuine communication with their teens

Example:
- Family that has dinner together but prefers time alone.
- May try to make a decision together, but family members make far more decisions on their own in comparison

- Has ‘emotional closeness’
- Families prioritise their time together and their mutual sharing
- Connected families respect their members’ private space and allow for alone time

- Knows every detail about each other
- They promote constant dependency
- Discourage doing things on one’s own
- May even lose their sense of individuality.
