-could be better for some than others if they refuse to change and keep their faulty thoughts or have extraneous stressors - eventhough blaming patients could encourage their free will, it ignores other factors which could therefore lead to harm
- therapist ability - kuyen found that 15% of its effectiveness is based on the therapists ability.
