Surface Grammatical Structure
A sentence is the actual work order of the words in a sentence.
Deep Grammatical Structure
An underlying form that specifies the meaning of the sentence.
Transformational Rules
A set of rules that define how one sentence can change into another.
Linguistic Relativity Hypothesis
The idea that language determines how reality is perceived.
