A

those who are more likely to be violent are also more likely to misinterpret the actions of others by assuming they are being confrontational when they arent’t, misreading social cues

A

presented 55 violent offenders with images of emotionally ambiguous facial expressions.
compared with a control group, offenders were significantly more likely to perceive the images as angry and hostile

children identified as ‘aggressive’ and ‘rejected’ were more likely to see a videoclip of neutral/ambiguous behaviour as being ‘hostile’ compared to a control group.
