CBTp stands for what?
Aims
Cognitive behavioural therapy for psychosis
Will challenge patients thoughts, done in a calm way and used as a treatment for depression
CBTp id a combination of what?
Cog therapy (way of changing maladaptive thoughts + beliefs) + behavioural therapy (way of changing beh in response to thoughts + beliefs)
NICE suggest people with schiz should be offered at least 16 sessions of CBTp
Aim
NICE ( national institute for health and care excellence)
Helping patients with schiz to monitor thoughts/feelings of behaviours with respect to their symptoms, they will be able to consider alternative ways of explain in way they feel/behave in that way

ABC - patient gives explanation of activating event (A) causing emotional beliefs (B) and behavioural consequences (C)
Norm - info that many people have unusual experiences such as hallucinations and delusions under different circumstances (stress) can reduce anxiety
Critical collab analysis + developing alternative explanations
Cca - therapist uses gentle questioning to heal patient understand illogical deductions + cons,questioning carried out without causing distress, atmosphere of trust
DAE- patient develops own alternative explanations for previously unhealthy assumptions
