What is the legislation for Coercive Control?
A person commits an offence if:
A. (A) repeatedly or continuously engages in behaviour towards another person that is controlling or coercive,
B. At the time of the behaviour (A) and (B) are connected
C. The behaviour has a serious effect on (B) and
D. (A) knows it’s ought to know that the behaviour will have a serious effect on (B)
What is coercive control?
It is a pattern of behaviour which seeks to take away the victims liberty or freedom, to strip away their sense of self.
Makes the victim feel dependant on suspect
Makes the victim feel isolated
Puts the victim in fear of violence
What is the entrapment process?
