Q

What is the blood supply of the Stomach?

A
  • Right gastric– branch of the proper hepatic artery, which arises from the common hepatic artery.
  • Left gastric– arises directly from the coeliac trunk.
  • Right gastro-omental– terminal branch of the gastroduodenal artery, which arises from the common hepatic artery.

Q

What are the branches of the SMA?

A
  1. Inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery
  2. Jejunal and Ileal Arteries
  3. Middle colic artery: supplies the transverse colon.
  4. Right colic artery: supplies the ascending colon.
  5. Ileocolic Artery: supplies the ascending colon, appendix, cecum, and ileum. In cases of appendectomy, the appendicular artery is ligated.
