  • Do you worry about others so much that it consumes all of your time
    • Do you constantly give to others but find it hard to receive
    • Do you feel guilty if you focus on your own needs
    • Do you seem to attract people who are troubled, needy or dependent?
    • Do you do things for others that they should be doing for themselves?
    • Do you feel it is your responsibility to solve others problems?
    • Do you find it difficult to say no if someone needs help?
    • Do you feel guilty if you don’t solve other peoples problems?

How to shift back to healthy boundaries

A
  • nip dependent behaviour in the bud when someone is seeking codependency
    • remember, you cannot fix it - someone greater than you is the one to fix it
    • Finding a healthy balance
      • Is this person doing his absolute best to help himself?
      • Are your actions helping this person to feel more self-empowered?
      • Are you working harder to deal with their issue or solve their problem than they are?
      • Don’t deprive others from the opportunity to learn from the consequences and actions
