To prevent employee misuse of ICT resources:
Avoid excessive use of ICT facilities for non-business purposes
Never distribute inappropriate or offensive content
Respect the rights of others
Comply with software licensing requirements
Only access resources & data with authorisation
Only access resources necessary for the job
Comply with copyright, the Data Protection Act, and other laws
Protect confidential data from competitors
Requirements designed to protect ICT systems
Comply with the security policy
Don’t give anyone your password
Don’t download software or files without approval
Don’t click on email attachments from people you don’t know outside the organisation
