Epinephrine
Uses: bronchodilator, vasopressor, anti-asthmatic
* 1 mg Q 3-5 min IVP (can be followed w/ continuous infusion, no max dose)
Liodcaine
Use: Ventricular dysrthmias, V tach (pulse or pulseless), V fib (IV), local anesthetic
Action: inhibts sodium - suppresses automaticity + depolarization of the ventricles
- 1-1.5 mg/kg bolus ( max dose: 3 mg/kg) (contin infusion after max dose)
Electrical Therapy
Debfibrillation: V tach, V fib, Torsades
* Depolarizes the heart
* not in sync mode
* make sure all clear
* Full 2 min round of CPR b/4 pulse check
Cardiversion: atrial dysrhythmias- A fib, SVT, A flutter, unstable V tach w/ pulse
* synchronized counter shock -> allows SA Node to control
* Sedate pt before ! benzo-versed, ativan
* Sync w/ R wave
* make sure all clear
V Tach w/ pulse
cardioversion -> drugs: amio, lidocaine
V Tach w/o pulse
or V fib
CPR -> defib -> drugs: epi, vasopressin, lidocaine, amio
PEA
CPR -> epi
Asystole
CPR-> epi
