Authorized Code-3 response
A
- While in immediate pursuit (mandatory)
- When directed or approved by supervisor/staff officer
- In response o officer/firefighter/paramedic call for emergency help
- All priority “0” CFS
- Response to life-threatening (non-crime) incident where GBI/death is potentially imminent or reported
- In progress priority “1” with possibility of suspect apprehension

What vehicles may respond Code-3?
A
- Two closest available units
- When reliable info that suspect is gone one unit may respond code-3
- First arriving code-3 may cancel other code-3 unit’s when not needed

Vehicles not authorized to run code-3
A
- No vehicle transporting prisoner shall run code-3 ever.
- Patrol wagons or plain cars with interior or spotlight type red light and sirens. Unless an emergency and no patrol vehicle is available.
