1. While in immediate pursuit (mandatory)
2. When directed or approved by supervisor/staff officer
3. In response o officer/firefighter/paramedic call for emergency help
4. All priority “0” CFS
5. Response to life-threatening (non-crime) incident where GBI/death is potentially imminent or reported
6. In progress priority “1” with possibility of suspect apprehension

What vehicles may respond Code-3?

Answer 2

1. Two closest available units
2. When reliable info that suspect is gone one unit may respond code-3
3. First arriving code-3 may cancel other code-3 unit’s when not needed

Vehicles not authorized to run code-3

Answer 3

1. No vehicle transporting prisoner shall run code-3 ever.
2. Patrol wagons or plain cars with interior or spotlight type red light and sirens. Unless an emergency and no patrol vehicle is available.
