Coastal landforms Flashcards
1
Q
Coastal landforms
A
Spits are narrow structures of sand and pebbles that are drawing to the land at one end
Bars are spits which go across the bay
This is only possible if there is a shallow water on the river entering the sea
2
Q
Beaches
A
Found on the street coastline where longshore drift is happening
Found in bays where the sea is shallower so the waves lose their energy and deposit what they are carrying
Made up of sand and pebbles
Formed by constructive waves
3
Q
Coastal deposition
A
Materials moved along the coast because of longshore drift
