What are the different types of Practice in sport?
Practice:
> Blocked – multiple rehearsals/drills
> Random – variety of skills in no particular order
> Constant – practice one variation of a drill (blocked)
> Variable – practice multiple versions of a drill (random)
> Specificity – optimal learning from matching practice to real life games.
Name the 2 types of Practice identified by Robinson (2010)
> Massed
> Spaced/Distributed
Define Massed practice according to Robinson (2010)
Massed – designed to stimulate fatigue.
Skill is easy to perform with little time to learn the skill

Spaced/distributed – intervals between trials longer than the trial, i.e. rest periods
Complex skill demanding mental and physical effort
