What is 4.3 Duty of Fairness?
A
Fairness involves representing ourselves in matters with consistency by evincing a commitment of impartiality, objectivity, openness, due process, and proportionality.

What are the tenants of duty of fairness?
A
- Treat all people equitably based on merit and ability
- Deal with each matter with consistency
- Demonstrate transparency in decision-making appropriate using criteria without bias
- Conduct ourselves in a manner free from competing self-interest, prejudice, and favoritism
- Constantly reexamine our impartiality taking corrective action as needed
- Provide equal access to information to those who are authorized
- Make opportunities equally available to all qualified candidates
- Fully disclose real/potential conflicts of interest to appropriate stakeholders
- Refrain from decision-making/influencing outcomes if a real/potential conflict of interest exists, unless full disclosure had been made to stakeholders, there is an approved mitigating plan, and we have stakeholder consent to proceed
