e.g. 3-4 headaches a day for weeks or months following by pain free period lasting several years
Attacks last between 15 mins and 3 hours

30-50 year old male smoker

Alcohol
Strong smells

A
Severe unilateral pain
Red swollen watering eye
Miosis - pupil constriction
Ptosis
Nasal discharge
Facial sweating

What is management of an acute attack?
A
Triptans e.g. SC or intranasal
High flow 100% oxygen

A
Verapamil
Occipital nerve block
Prednisolone
