Describe Cirrus
Thin white strands that don’t cover the sun. It has a high altitude and made of tiny ice crystals. They occur in fair weather
Describe Cirrocumulus
Small white patches made of ice crystals around 6000m high. It is rarely seen but can be seen in winter when it is cold and dry.
Describe altocumulus
Most common in the middle level. Seen on warm humid mornings and are white ish grey patches in large masses
Describe nimbostratus
It is a dark grey layer that covers the run and is a sign it will rain or snow. It extends from the middle and lower atmosphere
Describe cumulus
Puffy and white at the top but dark at the bottom and is seen when it’s sunny in the mornings.
Describe stratus
Low in the sky and a flat layer of grey cloud. It is fog on the horizon and means drizzle
Describe stratocumulus
Puffy white gray clouds with sky in between.
