Cloud Services Flashcards
Cloud brushing
Refers to the on-demand and temporary use of the public cloud when demand exceeds resources available in the private cloud on premises infrastructure
Private cloud
Cloud deployment model, is provisioned for the exclusive use of a single organization.
Community cloud
Cloud deployment model, is provisioned for the exclusive use by a well defined group
CSP
Cloud service provider
Distributed load balancing
Cloud brushing category, focuses on the workload balancing and monitoring between data center and public cloud
Automated cloud brushing
Based upon on-demand policies
Manual cloud brushing
Is the manual provisioning of cloud resources on a temporary basis for specific workloads
Shared responsibility
Security and compliance network which describes the duties of the cloud service provider and the provisioner
Multi-tenancy
When several different cloud customers are accessing the same computing resources
SAAS software as a service
3 components:
1. Provisioning - computing resources + operating system + application => customer uses providers application running on a cloud infrastructure
2. Customer impact - customer does not manage and control underlying cloud infrastructure including network, servers, operating systems , storage, individual applications capabilities
3. Security considerations - responsive, scalable, VULN mgm, privacy and confidentiality, data ownership, testing, audit
XAAS - anything as a service
Representing the growing type of services available over the internet via cloud computing opposed being provided locally on-prem, examples:
DAAS. Desktop as a service, Disaster recovery as a service, network as a service, database as a service
Cloud computing
Us the delivery of computing services, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics and intelligence over the internet (the cloud) that scale to business needs.
Public cloud
Cloud deployment model, provisioned for public use
Hybrid cloud
Cloud deployment model, mixed use on prem, private and public cloud witch orchestration among the providers
PAAS platform as a service
- Provisioning : computing resources + operating system + optionally database
- Customer impact: customer does not manage/control underlying cloud infrastructure, operating systems, programming languages, tools and platforms.
- Customer has a control over deployed applications
- Security considerations:responsiveness, scale, VULN mgm, confidentiality, privacy, data ownership, testing, audit, multi-tenancy
