a raised white blood cell count is characteristic

detecting Clostridium difficile toxin (CDT) in the stool
Clostridium difficile antigen positivity only shows exposure to the bacteria, rather than current infection

Management
A
Metronidazole
If this doesn’t work: Vancomycin
