A

A parapneumonic effusion refers to the accumulation of exudative pleural fluid associated with an ipsilateral lung infection, mainly pneumonia. Parapneumonic effusions are mainly associated with bacterial infections.

Empyema is a collection of pus in the cavity between the lung and the membrane that surrounds it (pleural space).

Empyema is the medical term for pockets of pus that have collected inside a body cavity. They can form if a bacterial infection is left untreated, or if it fails to fully respond to treatment. The term empyema is most commonly used to refer to pus-filled pockets that develop in the pleural space.

A clinically evident and unmistakable pus (exsudate composed of leukocytes, cell debris, and protein-rich fluid resulting from an acute inflammatory reaction)

Thoracic empyema is an infectious process defined by frank pus in the pleural space.

Paraplegia is also called leg paralysis
Paralysis that affects all or part of the torso, legs and pelvic organs.

Hemiplegia: Paralysis affects one side of the body (an arm and a leg on the same side). Monoplegia: You can’t move one limb (arm or leg). Paraplegia: Paralysis affects both legs and sometimes the torso. Quadriplegia (Tetraplegia): Paralysis involves all limbs.

n contrast, the term ”paresis” sounds a lot like paralysis, but it actually denotes weakness. This means that hemiparesis refers to weakness on one side of the body. To sum up the definitions then, hemiparesis causes weakness in one half of the body, while hemiplegia causes paralysis.

So if the person feels the affected limb, sensory and reflexes are intact it’s Hemiparesis but if the person doesn’t feel anything at all it’s hemiplegia cuz there’s paralysis
