Weight (kg) x Dose rate (mg/kg)

What are the 3 routes of administering drugs?
Topical (applied to body surface)
Enteral (using the digestive tract)
Parenteral (bypassing the digestive tract; ie using injections)
If an X-Ray is too white is it under or over exposed?
Under exposed= too white
Over exposed= too black
In a re-breathing circuit, what removes CO2 from expired gas?
Soda lime cannister
How would you know that a sheep was in the first stage of labour?
Separates from flock, straining, restless, pawing at ground, ‘water bag’ drops, uterus is contracting and cervix is dilating
How long should lambs be delivered after the water bag appears?
1 hour
When after labour is the placenta expelled from the uterus?
2-3 hours after

What are the pros and cons of performing a flank cat spay?
Pros: faster recovery
Cons: if something goes wrong you can’t fix it, have to go in through ventral midline
What are the pros and cons of performing a ventral midline cat spay?
Pros: full access to abdomen so can deal with any complications
Cons: slower recovery
