Raise foot with pt lying down and it becomes pale/cyanotic (blue to sky), then put pt’s foot on the side of the bed (they sit up) and it goes red “sunset foot”(hyperaemic)
Positive for arterial insufficiency ( PVD)
AKA testing for “rubor of dependency”
Froment’s sign? What does it test for? What is a positive test? Explain why.
Froment sign tests for ulnar nerve palsy. Technique: get the pt to grip paper between 1st + 2nd digit, and get them to hold onto it as you pull it away. If it slips, positive for ulnar nerve palsy. If they flex the distal phalanx to maintain the paper (compensate), it is also positive.
The ulna nerve innervated adductor pollicis.

Ewarts sign: dullness + bronchial breathing over LLB due to compressed left lower lobe by distended pericardial sac

If your differential is a lumbar radiculopathy what sign will you do? How technically?
Do Lasegue test- put hand under upper lumbar spine and straight leg raise, if painful = radiculopathy positive
