Increased chance the dog will seizure
More difficult to get seizures back under control
If using two drugs then have to monitor for two drugs and two lots of side effects
What is the first line anti-epileptic drug in horses?
Phenobarbitone and DON’T RIDE
What factors need to be considered when caring for a seizuring dog?
Stop with diazepam/phenobarbitone/propofol
Cool down to prevent hyperthermia and monitor temperature
Provide oxygen
Test blood glucose
