Procedural Reasoning

Interactive Reasoning
Therapist and client develop a collaborative relationship when monitoring and interpreting behaviors between them providing motivation and joint problem solving necessary for goal achievement
- get to know the client as a person
- be empathetic
- match goals and interventions to the client
- engage client in intervention session
Conditional Reasoning
Attempt to understand the “whole person” in the context of real-life and the disabilities future impact
- reflect on impact of interactive and procedural reasoning
- imagine the client’s future
- deeper thinking process of interpreting client as a whole
