getting another perspective from someone the client knows
What is an informal observation?
noting behavior during interview
What is a formal observation?
controlled or naturalistic observation
What is an unstructured interview?
free-form interview, content heavy, building relationship
what is a semi-structured interview?
some structure, some flexibility
what is a structured interview?
standard set of questions with specific sequence
What is a mental status examination (MSE)?
examining appearance, mood, affect, behavior/movement, speech, thought process, thought content, cognition
What does psychological testing consist of?
standardized instruments, administration, scoring, and norms
What are objective personality tests?
standard set of questions/statements, objectively scored, MMPI
What are projective personality tests?
assumption, unstructured, ambiguous stimuli, unrestricted responses, Inkblot Test
