CLIMB/CRUISE Flashcards

1
Q

Describe the use of reduce thrust for climb?

A

reduce climb increase total trip fuel but
increase engine life
selection of Climb 2 once the flaps are retracted or climb constraints are assured is the recommended procedure to reduce engine maintenance

Q

how do you perform a fuel check?

A

compare fuel remaining and expected fuel remaining on FPL
compare sum of fuel used plus fuel remaining and fuel quantity at engine start
check that expected fuel remaining at destination is sufficient for safe peration

Q

How can you raised the TAT? (3)

A

climb or descent to warmer air mass (3000 to 5000ft below optimum, FL250 may be needed
deviate to warmer air mass
increase M number (0.01M gives +0.5 to 0.7°C in TAT)

Q

How to croos an entry point within a certain time? time now is 1310 cross x point at 1500, ETA is 1440 what M do you need to take?

A

1310 to 1440 = 90 mins
1310 to 1500 = 110 mins
90/110=0,81 soit 19%
M.80*19%=.65
