climate change Flashcards
What are the HUMAN causes of climate change?
- Burning of Fossil fuels
-The threat of vehicles
-Deforestation
-Farming(cattle)
-Farming (arable)
-CFC’s
-Increased waste going to landfill
How does the burning of fossil fuels increase climate change?
Increases Co2 emissions
How does the threat of vehicles increase climate change?
it produces carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide
How does deforestation increase climate change?
Produces CO2 when burned and there is less trees to absorb the co2 being produced
How does the farming of cattle increase climate change?
Cattle belch and fart methane which is a strong greenhouse gas.
How does the farming of crops increase climate change?
Fertilisers produce methane and Nitrous oxide
How does CFC’s increase climate change?
re-radiates the energy that they have held for years into the atmosphere.
How does increased waste going to landfill increased increase climate change?
waste produces methane as it degrades.
What are some of the effects of climate change locally?
- Hotter summers with droughts
- Wet winters with flooding
- Average populations
decreasing
What are some of the effects of climate change globally?
- Increased wildfires
- Droughts
-Floods - Melting ice caps and galciers
- Melting
