What does Cognitive Learning consist of?
The client learning what their new disease or condition is and fully understanding it… must be able to comprehend fully (WHY)
*KNOWLEDGE, COMPREHENSION, APPLICATION, ANALYSIS, SYNTHESIS, & EVALUATION
What does Affective Learning consist of?
the client processing through the emotions… role-playing, feelings, values and attitude is important here
*RECIEVING, RESPONDING, VALUING, ORGANIZATION, & CHARACTERIZATION
What does Psychomotor Learning consist of?
The doing..putting everything learned into action. Hands-On, accomplishment of psychical skills
*IMITATION, MECHANISM, COMPLEX/ PRECISION, ADAPTATION/ ARTICULATION
Fine Motor Skills
Using dexterity (small muscles like the hands)
Gross Motor Skills
Using large muscle groups to get things done, whole body movement

Motivation: internal-gives drive to learn, external- is placed upon the client

what is group instruction?
2 or more clients and nurse present. alows for clients to share experience, problem solve and discuss with others. Lectures, small groups
what is individual instruction?
client and nurse, one-on-one, handouts, posters,videos
what is Teach-Back
client is demonstrated to then is expected to explain information to the teacher or provider
What is the SMART outcome?
foundation of an evalaution plan
Specific:clients goals are speciifc to them
Measurable: outcome can be measured so everyone knows the end goal
Achieveable: outcome is achieveable
Relevant: outcome is relevant to clients situation
Time: outcome has an achieveable time frame
