A

An extreme accumulation of heat that is usually associated with an infectious disease.

This includes hot, swollen, painful deep-set sores (boils, carbuncles, furuncles) - as in skin infections caused by bacteria/viruses, external or internal abscesses, diarrhea or dysentery, epidemic febrile outbreaks, poisons/venom toxins/insect bites, certain kinds of cancers or side effects of cancer treatment
