A clause that can take the place of a noun/subject.
What are the uses of a noun clause?
Subject of sentence.
Subject complement.
An object.
Object of prepositions.
Object of non-main verb.
What is an adjective/relative clause?
A clause that can take the place of an adjective/modifies a noun.
What are the uses of an adjective/relative clause?
⦁ Identifying (no commas): Gives details about a noun (who, what, where).
⦁ Non-identifying (commas): Gives extra information about a pre-established noun.
⦁ Situational (commas): Gives extra details about a clause/phrase.
What is an adverb clause?
A clause that can take the place of an adverb/shows a relationship (contrast, condition, reason, time, etc.).
