Q

Pavlov 1927

A

Pavlov knew that that the UCS of food -> UCR salivation

So he found a NS such as a metronome and paired the UCS with the NS

The dogs learned to associate the sound of the metronome with food and so began to salivate at just the sound of the metronome

Q
  • of classic conditioning
A

Supporting evidence based on animals, hard to generalise to humans
However, w&r (1920)

Also not in natural environment may not behave naturally, lack ecological validity
