define relation inquiry
“asking questions”
guides you to enter each situation as an inquirer - about experiences, people, behaviours, and context
an approach to care, enables us to act intentionally
relational orientation
relational orientation- a way of thinking and focusing your attention, individuals are oriented towards their close relationships creating more personal relationships and knowing more
3 components of relation orientation
a. Intrapersonal
You think about what might be going on within an individual patient you are caring for, what is going on within you, and what others in the situation (such as family members or colleagues) might be experiencing. ( what is going on with you?)
b. Interpersonal
Draws attention to what is going on among and between people—how people are acting in the situation, what they are prioritizing, what they are ignoring, and so forth. ( what is going on between you and others around you?)
c. Contextual
Consider what is going on around the people and situation—the structures and forces that are influencing the situation and shaping the intrapersonal and interpersonal responses.

define inquiring action and its 3 components
offers a way to get a wider and deeper understanding of any situation, helps you determine what is most significant and identify other information you may need to determine the most relevant action
a) asking questions of others
b) asking questions abut others
c) asking questions of yourself
